Under the auspices of the Natives, a pro-Nigeria organisation has voiced security concerns, requesting security authorities to increase vigilance ahead of President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s inauguration on May 29.

The organisation stated that the security danger is being posed by political saboteurs reminiscent of June 12, 1993, who are traversing the country looking for accomplices to end the country’s 24 years of continuous democracy.

Although conceding that security agencies, particularly the Department of State Service (DSS), the military, and the Nigerian Police, earned global acclaim for functioning well before, during, and after the recently concluded general elections, the committee praised their resilience.

Smart Edwards, the Supreme Leader of the Natives, congratulated security forces explicitly for recently disclosing a conspiracy by some opposition groups for an interim national government in a statement signed by him.

Edwards also commended them for their commitments to sustaining democracy in Nigeria, noting that the DSS acted quickly to promptly alert and urgently inform the public of the capricious tendencies of desperate feudal political oligarchies, using unsuspecting youths to rubbish all institutions of government and denigrate them in order to promote anarchy and acts of discountenance in the country.

“We, the Natives, are also utilising this platform to encourage the Nigerian security forces to amp up their efforts against the saboteurs as the nation prepares for the historic inauguration of Nigeria’s 16th President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

“At this juncture, we must openly commend the DSS under their Director General, the Defense Headquarters, and the entire Intelligence community for their professionalism and commitment to their democratic obligation by alerting, and distancing the establishment from any complicity and readiness to frustrate any mischievous effort to truncate our much-cherished democracy.”

“You may wish to know that pathetic political jobbers parading the nation appealing for interim government because of their conspiracy theories and illusions on the outcome of the recently concluded elections have attracted shame for themselves and their co-travellers by the dignity of our gatekeepers, a worthy armed forces,” the Natives said in a statement.

“These saboteurs, by their open and evil movements, have been mishandled and busted by the vigilance and verity of the Department of State Security,” the Supreme Leader remarked, emphasising that the Nigerian military and intelligence community deserve worldwide acclaim.

“Our military and intelligence community deserves global acclaim for taking a professional and democratic stance in the face of impending political disaster, defending our constitution, and not interfering in the statutory tasks of the electoral body.”

“To that end, the Natives of Nigeria encourage the military and intelligence community to be ever-committed to civilian government and to maintain their character as professionals and defenders of our sovereignty.”

“We recognise your drive for more sophistication, improved welfare, training, citizen support, and reinvigoration of our military architecture to better serve the nation and so sustain our tremendous military force in the Region while attaining national unity and cohesiveness.”

“The fresh hope mandate clearly guarantees us of resolve to invest in our security as a crucial sector, and this will no doubt rebuild the glory of our heroic forces with renewed triumphs as giants of Africa and defenders of democracy,” the organisation said.
