Alhaji Kamorudeen Ajisafe, the National Vice Chairman (South West) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has cast doubt on the validity of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ‘s victory in the 2023 presidential election.

During a panel discussion program titled “The Frontliners,” organized by the League of Veteran Journalists in Osun State, Ajisafe questioned the credibility of APC’s win, citing that they secured only 33 percent of the total votes cast in the initial ballot.

Offering a legal perspective, Ajisafe argued that beyond legal interpretations, the APC’s perceived underwhelming performance does not warrant an extension of national leadership.

He remarked, “Apart from the questionable legal interpretation of the electoral victory, a party with such an unimpressive background like APC is not deserving of an extension of rulership at the national level.”

Despite the hurdles encountered by the PDP prior to the election, Ajisafe stressed that many Nigerians remain disillusioned with the APC’s performance throughout President Buhari’s administration.

Ajisafe further highlighted that the PDP’s electoral outcome was influenced more by internal and external dynamics than the appeal of its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
