The commissioning of a water sanitation and health project in Imosan Town, in the state’s Odogbolu local government area, by Pernod Ricard Nigeria, a subsidiary of the Pernod Ricard Group in collaboration with Teach for Nigeria, seems to offer some people of Ogun State hope.
The event’s topic for 2023 Responsibl’All Day is “The Wellbeing of our People and Communities,” and this activity is in keeping with that subject.

The nearly 19,000 Pernod Ricard workers throughout the globe commit their time on Responsib’All Day to actively advancing the Group’s Sustainability and Responsibility Roadmap, “Good Times from a Good Place.”

The staff at Pernod Ricard concentrated this year on developing superior care practices for their local communities and themselves. 2.2 billion people, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), need access to better water sources.

Just 26.5% of Nigerians have access to sufficient water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) facilities; as a result, 130 million Nigerians—mostly children—live in a state of emergency.

Pernod Ricard Nigeria started the initiative to expand the water supply and enhance the health and well-being of residents in the Imosan community as part of its involvement.

A water well will be drilled as part of the project, and solar panels will be used to provide electricity and storage space in the chosen community.

The managing director of Pernod Ricard Nigeria and Western Africa, Mr Sola Oke, spoke in-depth about the project and stated “The successful completion of this project is expected to serve over 1,000 people in the community by improving water accessibility, enhancing hygiene practises, and reducing water-related illnesses.

He said having access to clean water is essential for everyone’s well-being.

We appreciate Pernod Ricard Nigeria’s dedication to finishing the project, guaranteeing long-term sustainability, and enhancing the community’s wellbeing, said Faith Emoukhare, the project coordinator for Teach for Nigeria.
