Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti will spend the night in police jail after punching an officer.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesman for the Lagos police, confirmed this over the phone.
After their investigation is over, he stated, the singer will go on trial.
The musician brought himself in at the Ikeja police headquarters in Lagos after the fight with the unnamed officer, accompanied by his attorney and family member.
Seun Kuti was imprisoned at the State CID in Lagos after being arrested.
He was then escorted to the State Criminal Investigation Department at Panti, in the Yaba district of Lagos, where he was then handcuffed and arrested.
