Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s win was confirmed by former Lagos state governor and minister of works and housing, Babatunde Fashola.

Fashola, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council’s election planning and monitoring director, said Tinubu’s February 25 win was due to significant preparation.

Fashola told The Nation why the APC won the election while the People’s Democratic Party and Labour Party lost, despite allegations that the governing APC manipulated the election.

He said:

“Show me your preparedness, opponents. Nigerians may have seen our situation room. Who has a situation room? 2015 and 2019. I led the situation room in 2019 and 2023. Yet many youth participated. These youth used data, maps, calling agents, training agents, etc.

“We prepared extensively. 2,000 agents received training. They were returned to the US to instruct agents. That wasn’t all. The trainers contrasted the 2010 Electoral Act with the 2023 version. They represented senators, House candidates, and the presidential candidate.

“INEC used the fake exercise to prepare for the election. The APC had the most participants. As elections are major business, they need a lot of work. I know a Nigerian election manager who is certified in the US. Our advertising included Fuad Oki.”
