Pastor Omotayo Valentine Akingbesote of the Celestial Church of Christ is facing serious charges.
Loveth, a 19-year-old girl, was killed by the pastor in Igunshin in Ondo West Local Government Area.
Daily Trust said the 65-year-old cleric gave the deceased “Largactil” to live long and prosper.
Largactil treats severe depression and behavioural issues. It treats nausea, vomiting, acute pain, and uncontrollable hiccups.
Our correspondent was told that the late Loveth asked the preacher for anything to make her rich and long-lived.
“She went to the pastor’s Church for the first time to pray for long life and a good career so she could take care of her siblings since she didn’t want to die young like her mother. While she was praying in the Church, the pastor’s wife came to meet her and said daddy was not at home and that she would tell him she visited the Church for consultation.
Thankfully, the pastor called her back. He prayed for her and urged me to come the next day. The pastor handed her “Largactil” the next day during Church. The insider stated he prayed on it and said it would help her succeed.
The source, who requested anonymity, claimed Loveth collected the medicine and used it in the Church but afterwards found herself unable to move.
Later, the pastor laid her on a church bed, removed her pants and slept with her, taking advantage of her weakness. He later drove her home. For four days, she merely woke up, ate, and slept. One white object covered her eyes as she woke up on the fourth day. She died on her sickbed.”
Daily Trust said that the police apprehended the clergyman and sent the matter to the Enu-Owa Station in Ondo for investigation.
A relative of the deceased reported the teenager’s murder to authorities.
The alleged pastor is being questioned by investigators, according to Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya. She stated that Akure police headquarters would investigate the murder case.
