13 Abuja citizens are abducted by bandits, who demand N900 million and other valuables as ransom

According to reports from Politics Nigeria, the assault took place in the early hours of Monday, May 6, 2024.

A resident of Shere, a nearby village, disclosed that one of the victims is a pastor in the area and also serves as an assistant head teacher at the Local Education Authority (LEA) in the Shere community.

Sources indicate that the assailants subsequently made a ransom demand of over N900 million, along with other stipulations, for the safe return of the abducted individuals.

Residents recounted that the bandits arrived in the community shortly after midnight and targeted a nearby herders’ enclave, where they seized two herders and a pregnant woman.

“Subsequently, they released the Fulani woman along with the head teacher, who is physically challenged, and another individual,” shared a resident who preferred anonymity.

Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT police command, stated that she had yet to receive any briefing regarding the attack at the time of compiling this report.
