The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission announced this in a message posted to its Twitter account.

The eighth round of evacuees, numbering 129, brings the total number of evacuees to 1,600.

The eighth group of evacuees, totalling 129 nationals, flew out of Port Sudan International Airport and arrived via Tarco Air at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at roughly 9:25 a.m. local time on May 8.

One thousand six hundred people have already been evacuated in total. The good news is that no Nigerian lives have been lost so far.
